It’s Oh, So Quiet…

Posted June 2, 2011

DONT PANIC!

We’ve just taken some time out to concentrate on writing music, we realised it’s something we haven’t done properly in over six months, but it’s no surprise when we took a moment to realise it was because 2010 was our busiest year to date.

We’ve experienced and learned so many things this last year and we’re already feeling it come through the music. Our six-week adventure in USA/CANADA supporting Enter Shikari/Haste The Day was the best time of both our lives and has been a huge influence/inspiration to write better music.

To be able to accomplish this properly, we’ve decided to take a short break from touring and playing most shows for the first half of this year. We still play the odd one here and there, because we miss it and don’t want to get too rusty, so keep an eye on the ‘shows’ page to find out where we are! There are a couple of festivals in there too.

The recording process is going well so far… we’ve a bag of around 20 ideas for tracks and have already begun recording home demos in our garage studio. The music that’s falling out has surprised even us to an extent, so it’ll be very interesting hearing people reactions! We can’t wait to have this record done so we can start showing it to people, and start playing the new sound live.

We still have a little way to go yet though, so sit tight, and we’ll keep you updated. In the meantime we’re uploading photos and videos of our progress to our Tumblr page here http://lightsgoblue.tumblr.com

You’ll be hearing more from us very soon. R.

Show Us Your Threads!

Posted October 14, 2010

A good friend of mine (Bram, pictured below) got lost somewhere in the Congo on his worldly travels a little while ago, and my first contact with him since was this photo he sent me yesterday reppin’ a LightsGoBlue shirt! What a hero. This sparked a little idea I thought might be cool…

We want EVERYBODY who owns an LGB shirt to send us a photo of yourself wearing it, anywhere you like. Whether it be in your bedroom, on your holiday, at a gig, with your friends, at a steaming house party, playing a show… anything! The weirder, the better. If you don’t own a shirt, buy one now from our ‘Store’ by clicking here! If you really can’t afford to, then make one yourself!? We’ll post every photo we receive in a photo gallery on our website once we feel have enough.

Send your pictures to ‘ photos@lightsgoblue.com ‘

IMPORTANT: Please remember to type in the subject of your email… ‘My LGB Tshirt’. If you put anything else, the email might get lost among all our other messages and won’t be included in the gallery! Have fun with this, and get Snappin’! R.

Some Bad News About USA…

Posted September 29, 2010

Due to the US visa application being incredibly long-winded and annoyingly difficult, we regret to inform some of you that we’ll be missing a few dates in the South/East corner at the beginning of this tour. Everyone has been working really hard around the clock to try and get this sorted in time, but looks like we may have just missed the deadline which is a huge shame for us and any of you that feel you’re missing out. We apologise to anyone that was looking forward to seeing us at any of these dates, I’m sure we’ll be back again in time to make up for it.

However, visa’s now approved and all that’s left to overcome is an interview at the US embassy this Friday, it’s looking like we’ll be out there later next week to join the Enter Shikari boys on the bus around Atlanta on the 9th. We’re so stoked to be getting out there at all, let alone still having a month over there, and now we’re even more pumped for the shows as we’ll have to make up for lost time… so make sure you get down there early! We’re ready to tear. shit. up.

America… we’ll see you VERY soon, we can’t wait. R.

Stagedive Day Out Festival, Sweden

Posted March 10, 2010

Last year, (August 2009) we were lucky enough to be asked to play Sweden’s ‘Stagedive Day Out’ festival near Stockholm. The entire trip was such a blast, we met some of the coolest people, sickest bands and had so much fun while we were there. We even partied on-stage with the great Andrew W.K. What a weekend… here’s some of what we got up to!

No Smoking… Or Sucking?

Posted February 18, 2010

This was a fantastic find backstage at The Foundry in Sheffield on our tour with buds Hadouken… and even though Wolfy’s face is still massively swollen and tender from a fight the night before in Norwich, he can’t help but smile.

DIY Graffiti Photoshoot

Posted January 18, 2010

A little while back we organised a self managed photoshoot for no other reason than we had very little money at the time and we needed a couple new photos to go with the new website designs, so our good friend David Mannion came round with his nice new shiny camera. We had a few beers and spent the day drawing/cutting out stencils and eventually sprayed a LGB logo on our studio wall. Great fun, and the photos weren’t too shabby either!

If you wanna have a gander at the other photos we took on that day, we’ve uploaded a good few into a Facebook album… just click the photo below.
